I was provided concepts and designs from Precept in the form of .ai Illustrator files. I had to then take the storyboarded sequence and split the necessary .EPS layers into folders correlating to each shot on the storyboard.
From there I animated the sequence all in one comp in After Effects. The render and feedback loop continued until the agency and client were happy. Voice over was sourced by Precept and added afterwards in Premiere. I did all sound design work and editing. Project took approximately 9 days.

I helped with general compositing on the shoot days as well as appearing in one! We shot each person or group on a white wall background, switching out props each time and aiming to keep lighting consistent.
After receiving the video files I had to take each shot and stitch them into one continuous timeline video, removing holes in the wall and undesirable elements with After Effects paint tool.
I then selected each persons best 3-5 second greeting, find a good starting point freeze frame and have it return to this point after their greeting had played (simply by reversing the footage).
Once I rendered out the takes at 2890x600 and the kitchen shot at 1076x600. Then the shots were colour corrected and implemented by the developers.

My first attempt at storyboards. The Lambton Worm tale 2D animatic in stereoscopic 3D for university. Painted in photoshop with a Wacom bamboo A5 tablet over 2 days.
The animatic will be fairly experimental using 2D layers from photosop .psd files in After Effects 3D space as well as 3D models in the foreground. This will all hopefully work with 3D glasses after conversion using each objects position in 3D space to create the parallax. Inspired by the Guild Wars 2 and Spartacus TV show animatics.
Tulpa - 4 weeks to make a horror short film for University. I wrote a screenplay adapted from a popular creepypasta story that circulates the internet.
A student partakes in experimental clinical and psychological trials for large sums of money. During these tests he visualizes his doppelganger or ‘Tulpa’ which is his subconscious projected in human form. Things take a dark turn as his aggressive tendencies come forth in violent form.
I was tasked in March with producing a high quality showreel for the relaunch of Precept after the merger with web developer Blinkio.
Initially I was given full creative direction with the mock-up showreel. The music and editing went down well so I began to implement the company’s work through film, animation and motion graphics in collaboration with the designers and the directors constant creative feedback.
Made while working at Precept with footage I shot at the 2012 festival for the first part then obviously footage owned by the bands for the second part (lineup segment). The festival organiser shed a tear of joy after watching this at the time :)
